He is an experienced comfort, orthopedic and pedorthic footwear retailer and provider. He is also a Board Certified Medicare provider under The Diabetic Therapeutic Shoe Program.
Phil is the founder and owner of Long Island Comfort Shoes and Pedorthic Services (LICSPS) in Port Jefferson Station, Long Island. LICSPS is a fully accredited pedorthic and retail facility established in 2003.
LICSPS is proud of the relationships it has developed in the medical community. We interface with Medical Doctors, Podiatrists, Endocrynologists, Orthopedists, Certified Orthothists, Prostethists and Physical Therapists. In addition, we consult and service patients from neighboring hospitals, nursing and senior living facilities.
Phil's approach to excellent foot care revolves around the belief that sincere customer service and attention to detail is a recipe for success. That's why his customers come back year after year and bring their family, friends and co-workers. Phil brings solid pedorthics and retail experience to the table and a “can do” attitude. These are just a few of the many qualities which has endeared Phil to the medical community and his customers.
Phil completed his Certification in Pedorthics at Northwestern University Medical in Chicago, IL. He graduated from St. John's University Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree.
Prior to working in the retail end of the business, Phil successfully launched and managed his own shoe repair business in 1993. The business was a success from the start. One of his many accolades included the "Excellence in Marketing Retailing Division Award" presented by the Shoe Service Institute of America.
Within a few years, Phil was able to sell the business at a profit and began strategizing his next venture...fully accredited comfort retail and pedorthic facility in Suffolk County, Long Island. As an entrepreneur, Phil saw the need for a quality store with quality product, on the east end of Long Island. He envisioned quality in terms of knowledge, experience and an ability to work with the medical community at large, and everyone who would walk through his front door.
When Phil opened Long Island Comfort Shoes and Pedorthic Services, Inc., in January of 2004, his dream became reality. The last 11 of those years in his own retail and pedorthic facility.
Phil continues to give back to his community and supports local organizations in an advisory capacity with expertise on proper foot care and footwear.
Phil is married and lives in Suffolk County with his wife. He is passionate about music and is an avid acoustic and electric guitar player. When he isn't strumming one of his guitars, you might find him indulging in his other passion, fishing on the Sound at sunrise or sunset while listening to the Beatles, Eric Clapton or The Who. He is a New York Yankee and Giants fan, enjoys a good glass of cabernet, spending quality time with friends and travels to at least one new destination every year.
